Albanian arrested in Italy after 14 years for drug conviction

A 44-year-old Albanian man has been arrested by Italian carabinieri in the city of Carpi, pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Orvieto.

According to Italian authorities, the Albanian, resident of Modena, was sentenced to 2 years, 11 months and 7 days in prison for the criminal offenses of possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute and resistance to law enforcement. The crimes date back to June 11, 2010 and were committed in the municipalities of Orvieto and Allerona.

The 44-year-old was located during routine checks carried out by the Carabinieri Operational Unit in Carpi. After verifying his identity, the officers executed the arrest warrant that was in force against him.

After the arrest, the Albanian was escorted to the Modena District Prison, where he was made available to the judicial authorities to serve his sentence.
