Plenary session postponed to Thursday after tensions

The Assembly was unable to proceed with its work today after two interruptions and tensions in the hall, as the opposition blocked the floor at the moment the Ombudsman was about to report.

After heated debates and accusations, the leader of the Socialist Party group, Taulant Balla, proposed postponing the session to Thursday (July 23) with all remaining points today, because after a 7-hour session, as he stated, the opposition was not allowing normal proceedings.

The head of the DP group, Gazment Bardhi, proposed that only the point of the People's Advocate, Endrit Shabani, be postponed to the end of the agenda, accusing Pelesh of provoking the opposition.

"He will not be able to report to the Assembly. Give up the opposition's blocking scenarios. You want to boycott this session and the next session. Let's continue with the Supreme Court, the Supreme People's Court, the Prosecutor General, the ILD and finally the Ombudsman, if you want, listen to him, but he will not be able to report. We simply ask for a change in the agenda, leave it for the end. If you want to boycott the opposition and disrupt the session, but you are provoking the opposition at every moment", said Bardhi.
