Vokshi: MEP's statements sink Rama, SPAK to launch investigations

Democratic Party MP Albana Vokshi has reacted to the statements of MEP Tomáš Zdechovský regarding Albania's integration process into the European Union, describing them as "among the most serious" ever made about the Albanian government.

According to Vokshi, the statements show that the main obstacle to the country's European integration is Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"The MEP clearly stated that Edi Rama not only does not guarantee free and fair elections, but is also accused of laundering criminal money and drug trafficking through his family members. These are extremely disturbing and scandalous statements," she said.

The Democratic MP emphasized that, according to her, these positions are no longer just accusations of the opposition, but concerns that are also being raised in European institutions.

"This is a political 'bomb' that confirms not only our denunciations, but also the concerns of international partners. Integration is not a facade, but implies a rule of law, the fight against corruption and free elections," declared Vokshi.

She demanded that Prime Minister Rama provide public explanations for the MEP's statements, emphasizing that they directly affect the government and his family.

In conclusion, Vokshi called on the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) to launch investigations into the matter.

"SPAK must react immediately and investigate these statements, as these are very serious accusations that require transparency and institutional responsibility," said the Democratic MP.
