The Institute of Geosciences has warned of a high risk of forest fires in most of the country during this Monday afternoon and Tuesday.

According to the forecast, the risk level will be high in the regions of Lezhë, Durrës, Tirana, Elbasan, Fier, Berat, Korçë, Vlorë and Gjirokastër. While in the regions of Shkodër, Kukës and Dibër, the risk is predicted to be moderate.

The institute reports that in some areas of the Shkodra and Dibër regions, the risk will be locally high. Specifically, this concerns the southwest of the Shkodra region and the southwest of the Dibër region.

According to the Institute of Geosciences, the situation is expected to worsen on Tuesday. 
As for the weather, light rainfall is expected in the Shkodër and Kukës regions, accompanied by local thunderstorms. Light rainfall is also expected in Dibër and Lezha, while in Tirana, Elbasan, Korçë and Gjirokastër rainfall will be only locally light. No rainfall is expected in the rest of the country.

Temperatures will remain very high. On Tuesday they will reach up to 37°C on the coast, 40°C in low-lying areas and 33°C in mountainous areas.

The wind will blow light to moderate, while for short periods in mountainous areas it is expected to be strong.
