Haxhiu seals the departures of 7 Serbian prosecutors

The acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has announced that she has signed decrees to dismiss 7 Serbian prosecutors who had resigned in 2022.

The decrees come 24 hours after the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council's decision to reject the prosecutors' request to return to the justice system.

"Our state functions on the principles of constitutional order and the rule of law. No one can hold hostage the functioning of institutions nor create legal uncertainty through unfinished processes. The Republic of Kosovo will continue to act decisively, in accordance with the law and in defense of the integrity of its institutions," said Haxhiu.

During the week, the Kosovo Judicial Council is expected to review the request for the return of judges.
