Vlora Airport, Zhupa responds to Balla: Berisha had planned it in Levan, not in

The Chairwoman of the Committee for Culture, Tourism and Diaspora, Ina Zhupa, has reacted after a video published by Taulant Balla regarding the Vlora airport project, accusing him of distorting the facts.

Zhupa said that Balla's statement, according to which the airport project was approved by the government led by Sali Berisha in the Akërni/Nartë protected area, does not match official documents.

According to her, the 2009 decision of the National Council for Territorial Regulation envisaged the construction of the airport in the Levan area, near the Fier-Vlora axis, and not in the area where the project is currently being developed.

The DP MP states that the change in location was made by the Rama government, moving the project within the Vjosa-Narta Protected Landscape.

Reaction:

Taulant Balla lied again about the Vlora airport. The Berisha government did not approve the plan for the Vlora airport in the protected area of Akërni/Nartë but in the Levan area.

I told him to his face, but he cut the video to 26 seconds for his Facebook, so that only his lie could be heard and spread it as the "news of the year" that Berisha left the Vlora airport there and we have no reason to oppose it...

The truth is very simple: the Berisha government had foreseen the Vlora airport with the KKRT Decision No. 1, dated 26.02.2009, “On the approval of the National Sectoral Plan for Air Transport”, but not in Akërni/Nartë where it is being built today.

The planned location was the Levan area, near the Fier-Vlora axis. So, the Berisha government had planned the airport outside the protected area, while the Rama government moved the project to Akërni/Nartë, within the Vjosa-Nartë Protected Landscape.

The Bern Convention has repeatedly called for the suspension of the Vlora airport project, due to the serious threat to biodiversity and protected habitats of the Narta lagoon.

Likewise, the European Parliament, in its resolutions on Albania, has expressed deep concern about the construction of the airport in the Vjosa-Narta protected area and has demanded respect for environmental legislation and European standards.

Taulant Balla cannot hide the truth by blaming Saliu!

The facts are public: Berisha envisioned the airport in Levan, Rama moved it to Nartë, entering into conflict with the Berne Convention and the European Parliament itself.

Rama can't hide anymore! The end has come for you.
