Kukës/ A police officer from Prizren is found without signs of life

 

A police officer from Prizren was found without signs of life in the cemetery of the village of Morinë, in Kukës.

According to preliminary information from the Police, at around 08:25, citizen Sh. H., 35 years old, resident of Prizren, who was an employee of the Rapid Reaction Unit of the Kosovo Police, was found dead.

From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that the 35-year-old ended his life with a firearm, a pistol which was seized by the authorities as material evidence.

Police announcement:

On 22.07.2026, at around 08:25, citizen Sh. H., 35 years old, resident of Prizren, police officer in the Rapid Reaction Unit in Prizren, was found without signs of life in the cemetery of the village of Morinë.

Preliminary investigative actions indicate that the 35-year-old committed suicide with a pistol, which was seized as material evidence.

A special investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing its actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.

Meanwhile, the State Police is cooperating with the Kosovo Police to verify whether the seized firearm is the 35-year-old's service weapon, as well as to provide any information that will serve the complete legal documentation of the case.
