Strong storms sweep the country this weekend, here are the most at risk areas

Albania is expected to face short, but high-intensity storms on Friday. The warning was made by meteorologist Tanja Porja, who provided details on the development of atmospheric conditions in the coming days.

According to her, weather phenomena will extend to most of the territory, while the central and southeastern areas appear more exposed to heavy rainfall and strong winds.

Porja explained that these are isolated storm formations, which can suddenly form over certain areas and bring large amounts of precipitation for a short time.

Among the areas that could be most affected are Tirana, Durrës, Fushë-Kruja, Elbasan, Librazhd, Pogradec, Korça, Erseka, Devolli, as well as some southern areas such as Përmet and Gjirokastra.

Meteorology emphasized that, although these storms will last a short time, within a time frame of about 20-40 minutes they may be accompanied by intense rainfall and high wind speeds.

According to the forecast, the risk will be present throughout the territory, as these types of storms are difficult to accurately locate in advance.
