Outside revolt, inside session: Parliament closes session amid citizen protest

Protesters will gather again this Thursday, at 08:30, in front of the Parliament building, on the 54th day of their protest, as the last plenary session of this session takes place inside the parliament.

The organizers have announced that they will repeat their non-negotiable demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, while they aim to convey to the deputies the message that citizens do not feel represented by the current composition of the Assembly and demand a response to the problems that concern them.

Meanwhile, the parliamentary session is expected to focus on the annual reports of justice institutions for 2025. At the center of the discussions will be the report of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), which is expected to be accompanied by political debates on the institution's results in the fight against corruption and organized crime.

The deputies will also review draft resolutions on the activities of the High Judicial Council, the High Prosecutorial Council, the General Prosecutor's Office and the High State Audit Office. The agenda also includes reports by the Ombudsman and the High Inspector of Justice, as well as interpellations and question-and-answer sessions with the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi.
