Protest enters eighth week, citizens demand Rama's resignation

The civic protest has entered its 53rd day, as citizens from Tirana, various cities in the country, and the diaspora continue to demand political change.

Today, protesters have gathered at "Skënderbej" Square, from where they are expected to head towards "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, where anti-government rallies have been taking place for weeks.

During the protest, calls made in previous days are expected to be repeated, such as "Rama, resign", "Albania is not for sale".

Citizens continue to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government, the creation of a caretaker government, as well as further investigations by justice institutions into issues denounced as corruption cases.

The protest, dubbed by the organizers as the "Flamingo Revolution", initially began after developments in the Vjosa-Narta protected area, but later turned into a movement with broader political demands.
