With majority votes, 4.3 million euros in funding for Kanye West is approved in

The Albanian Parliament has approved by majority vote the normative act that provides for the financing of the concert of American rapper Kanye West in Tirana held on July 11.

The decision was voted on during this Thursday's plenary session, which was accompanied by tensions and protests from citizens and the opposition inside the hall.

Despite objections and blocking of the floor by the opposition, the majority continued with the voting on the agenda items and approved the normative act with 80 votes in favor, no abstentions and 6 votes against.

In the same session, majority MPs also approved changes to the state budget for 2026, as well as a series of draft resolutions related to the reporting and activity of constitutional and independent institutions.
