Drones 'scan' Berat, hundreds of fines for traffic violations

Stopping vehicles in violation of road signs, wrongful overtaking, and speeding are the violations that are most frequently encountered on the roads of Berat.

 During Traffic Police checks, 254 drivers were fined for wrongful stopping or stopping, 158 for wrongful overtaking, and 140 for speeding above the permitted speed limit.

 
The checks have also revealed other violations, with 94 drivers fined for not wearing a seat belt, 80 motorcycle drivers for not wearing a protective helmet, while 5 drivers were administratively punished for driving under the influence of alcohol. In addition, 246 other measures have been imposed for various violations of the Highway Code.

Four drivers have also been prosecuted as a result of the checks. Two of them were arrested after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol, while two others were prosecuted at large for driving without a license.

Police say that checks have been conducted with drones, radar, and intelligent vehicles and will continue on all axes of the district.
