The moment Bardhi throws water at Rama, Peleshi expels him from Parliament

Tensions in the plenary session escalated further after the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, decided to expel the head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi.

The decision came after Bardhi threw water at Prime Minister Edi Rama, in protest against the majority's decision to put a series of acts to a vote without parliamentary debate.

After the incident, the prime minister's bodyguards immediately intervened, positioning themselves next to him to protect him.

On the other hand, Peleshi continued the procedure for voting on the agenda items at a rapid pace, reading the draft decisions and draft resolutions to put them to the vote.

Meanwhile, opposition MPs protested from their seats, banging their desks and hurling accusations at the prime minister with chants such as: "You thief!" and "Resign!".
