Conflict in Durrës, the weapon of the officer suspected of being associated

The Police Supervision Agency has seized the firearm of a police officer in Durrës, who is suspected of being involved in a fight, in which a 41-year-old wanted by SPAK, Denis Tafili, also took part.

 
It is learned that the officer was present at the bar when the fight occurred, but in his statements to AMP agents, he stated that he had no connection with the SPAK wanted person.

Edison Gjuzi, who was raped with a pistol by Tafili, claims to have seen the police officer several times in the company of the person wanted by SPAK and the other person who raped him.

The Police Surveillance Agency is verifying security cameras to learn whether the officer favored SPAK's wanted man, Denis Tafili.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of July 24, where, according to the Durrës police, during a conflict for weak motives, Edison Gjuzi, 36, was hit with a pistol by 41-year-old Denis Tafili and the citizen with the initials GM, 27, both residents of Shkallnur, Durrës, who after the incident left in a vehicle.

"On 24.07.2026, at around 15:00, the Operations Room of the Durrës DVP was notified that, in the village of Shkallnur, during a conflict for weak motives, citizen E. Gj, 36 years old, was hit with hard objects (including a pistol) by citizens DT, 41 years old, a person previously declared wanted, and GM, 27 years old, both residents of Shkallnur, Durrës, who after the incident left by vehicle," the police said.

"It is also suspected that an off-duty police officer, Inspector L. Xh., was also involved in the conflict, who has been escorted and procedural actions are being taken against him by the Police Supervision Agency (AMP)," the announcement continues. 

At the scene, the investigation team found and seized, as material evidence, a pistol cartridge and it is suspected that during the conflict a pistol shot was fired once into the air.
