"We've pampered you enough," Rama reacts without empathy towards Braça at the meeting

"We've pampered you enough," Rama reacts without empathy towards

It has been a while since Edi Rama speaks to the Socialist Party MPs, not even a fly is heard. The new generation of MPs cannot conceive of raising a concern or putting forward a different idea for discussion. It is in their deepest conviction that when the boss speaks, they must take notes, nod and memorize every detail from the party line.

But Erjon Braçe is not adapting to this trend. It seems that he refuses to accept reality; he, like everyone else, is simply another soldier in Edi Rama's garrison.

From time to time, Brace complains in public, raises his voice about some minor problem, or announces unconsulted candidacies, just to give some meaning to his existence in politics.

This is what happened at the group's meeting this Friday, when Erjon Braçe complained about a lack of coordination during the vote in parliament on the name of the chairman of the Public Procurement Committee.

As Lapsi.al reported the day before in the parliamentary session, the SP parliamentary group experienced a moment of stagnation as a result of the clash between Bledi Çuçi and Ulsi Manja, who each had their own proposal for the head of the KPP. It took the intervention of Edi Rama to give priority to Ulsi Manja's candidate, after he had "calmed down" Bledi Çuçi in a one-on-one meeting.

Braçe raised his concern as a problematic phenomenon in parliament, where names are presented to the parliamentary group for voting, without being discussed beforehand, without being introduced, without recognizing their merits or even their contribution to the party or their expertise.

Among them, he raised as a concern the story of a member recently proposed to the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania, who turned out to be the wife of one of the other names that had been voted on by parliament. Braçe also conveyed his concern to other committees and boards, where the same thing happens; names come directly for voting without being previously known by the parliamentary group.

At first, Rama intervened calmly, telling Erjon Braçe that he had left it to the responsibility of the deputies to deal with appointments of this level and had not interfered in their work.

But this answer did not satisfy the Tirana MP. Braçe continued speaking further, complaining again about this issue, until Edi Rama, who is used to being surrounded only by employees who are ready to say "yes, yes, yes", could no longer hold his nerve.

"Enough of us petting you," was the short but harsh response that came to Braça in the form of a scolding.

A response that cut the discussion short, leaving no room for further words. An episode not at all appropriate on the day when Edi Rama unveiled the new philosophy of empathy towards citizens, empathy towards flamingos, empathy towards people and towards nature. So much empathy for the people, that the prime minister no longer has a single point of empathy left for the oldest member of the Socialist Party./ Lapsi.al
