Zhupa "catches" Rama with the Tocqueville quote: Can a prime minister

Democratic Party MP Ina Zhupa has reacted with irony to Prime Minister Edi Rama's speech and his use of a quote from Alexis de Tocqueville.

Zhupa accuses Rama of manipulating the quote by leaving out the word "bad", while interpreting this as an own goal by the prime minister in the face of criticism of the government.

Referring to the book "The Old Regime and the Revolution", Zhupa argues that Tocqueville's full quote speaks of "a bad government" and turns this into a political attack on the Rama government.

"Can we trust a prime minister who even manipulates quotes?" Zhupa writes, closing the reaction with a call for the prime minister's resignation.

Bad government, that's how Rama describes his government, scoring an own goal by quoting Tocqueville.

Tocqueville writes on page 250 of his book "The Old Regime and the Revolution": Experience teaches us that the most dangerous moment for a bad government is usually when it begins to reform.

Rama quoted this but "forgot" the word BAD, deceiving again as he usually does.

Albanians don't need a bad government!! Rama, resign!
