Musk predicts the end of money: You won't need it in 2036

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made a prediction about the future of the economy, arguing that money could lose much of its importance within the next decade.

According to Musk, the development of artificial intelligence and humanoid robots could bring about a radical change in the way goods are produced and services are provided, making money as we know it today less necessary.

"What do you need money for? You need it for goods and services: food, shelter, transportation and entertainment," Musk said, raising the scenario of what would happen if robots and AI systems were able to produce more than humans could consume.

In this scenario, according to him, the abundance of goods and services could significantly reduce the need for money and would change the traditional way the economy functions.

Musk has long been one of the most vocal advocates of humanoid robots and artificial intelligence. He predicts that autonomous cars and robots could take over a significant portion of manual and industrial jobs, significantly increasing productivity.

However, this scenario remains far from a consensus among economists and technology experts. Even in an economy where automation is highly advanced, important questions will remain about who owns the technology, how wealth is distributed, and who controls resources.
