Koçek ironically mocks Rama's 'Trust': You can't

Independent MP Marjana Koçeku reacted after Prime Minister Edi Rama's presentation yesterday of the new political document of the Socialist Party, questioning the very use of this word by the head of government.

Koçeku, who left the Socialist Party and is now an independent MP, connects the concept of Besa to the land, place and identity of the highlanders, arguing that it cannot be separated from the way properties and territory are treated.

She writes on social media that "besa" cannot be used as a political slogan by people who, according to her, do not understand its true meaning, and criticizes those who see the land mainly as space for towers and resorts.

Reaction:

People who have no idea what a besa is talk about.
First, a besa is an unwritten contract between people, and being unwritten, it is a deeply natural contract.
Our ancestors were not lacking when they gave their word and their besa and bound it to the land, the valley, the mountain and the stone. These were not simply the decoration of the besa, but its witnesses, its very substance. They knew that a person cannot give their besa to another, cutting their besa to the place where they live.
Secondly, those who see the land only as a plot of land for multi-storey towers and resorts, can hardly understand this concept that for us highlanders is extremely sacred. That is why we do not sell the land and the tower.
Of course, a besa can also be given in luxurious towers and resorts, but it is not a besa. That this type of besa so far we have seen mainly only in films with mafiosi and financial speculators. We know how they end.
Thirdly, I know well from the highland code where I come from that, even when bloodsuckers or people of crime, when they want to close their problems, apart from the law, wherever they are in the world, even though they may have built luxurious towers or live in resorts, they are forced to come and beg for besa at the old tower of their ancestors, at the log or at the old church of the village.
Why? Because that is where the old spiritual connection that they have lost is. Only there do they have the opportunity to become human once again.
Therefore, people who lose their connection with the land, their place and nature, cannot be trusted!
