16 days of protest/ Pollo: No attempt at dialogue, why don't the institutions react?

In a post on social media, Pollo brings to attention the example of Serbia, where according to him the student movement launched after the Novi Sad tragedy in 2024 found broad support from universities, professional organizations, unions and cultural institutions.

"The student movement in Serbia began its continuous protests in 2024 after a tragic accident in Novi Sad caused by government corruption. Since then, that movement has been supported with public appeals, in addition to opposition parties, by university rectors and deans, the National Chamber of Advocates, trade unions, cultural institutions such as theaters that suspended their activities, etc. ," Pollo writes.

According to him, these institutional leaders showed social responsibility and did not hide behind the argument that they do not deal with politics. Pollo further asks where Albanian institutions stand in the face of the demands of young protesters and calls for political dialogue.

"Where are these institutions in Albania? Where are the heads of universities, the Academy of Sciences, the Chamber of Advocates, unions, etc.? Do they only think about the salary or privileges that the government gives them, or do they think about serving a higher cause?"  he says.
