Gathered near the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität campus, the protesters unfurled banners and political messages in support of the demands being articulated by citizens in the capital. One of the banners read: “You build towers, we bear wounds. You sell Albania, we hold the flag high. The decision is coming from Munich, Rama is leaving, there is talk of exile.”

Protesters also addressed messages to European institutions. One of the banners featured a photo of Prime Minister Rama with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, accompanied by the call: “Stop supporting the criminal regime.” The rally in Munich is another sign of the Albanian diaspora’s involvement in the wave of protests taking place at home and abroad.
