Bad weather affects several regions of Greece, authorities appeal to citizens

Bad weather has hit several regions of Greece, bringing heavy rain and strong storms. According to meteorologists, the phenomena are expected to continue in the coming hours, while authorities are urging citizens to be careful.

Hail was recorded in Mandra in Attica, as well as in the regions of Fthiotida and Larissa. Strong atmospheric phenomena were also reported in Kostur.

According to meteorologists, the worsening weather will continue until the end of the afternoon, with local storms affecting parts of Attica. The phenomena may be accompanied by intense rainfall, high lightning activity, strong winds and hail.

According to local media, numerous trees and branches fell and blocked roads. Considerable damage was also reported to agricultural crops, especially pistachio trees and other fruit crops, which were hit by strong winds and hail.

Meteorologists warn that unstable weather will continue in the coming hours, so citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary movements in areas affected by the storms.
