Protesters' march towards Rinas was stopped last night by police, citizens

After several hours of protests in front of the Prime Minister's Office, citizens continued their action with a march on the main streets of the capital, then heading towards the Tirana-Durres highway and the Rinas area.

At around 00:26 midnight, the protest column arrived near the Rinas overpass, and then the march continued towards the airport. The participants continued with their calls and slogans, extending the protest until the early hours of the morning.

At around 02:00, police forces intervened to stop the advance of protesters near the airport. Through loudspeakers, officers asked citizens to remain calm and not block traffic.

"Remain calm, do not block the road. Your actions are illegal. The police will enforce the law," was the message conveyed by the blue uniforms.

On the other hand, the protesters addressed the officers with a call to join the protest, while appealing for the continuation of the mobilization in the coming days.

"Join us! Take off your hats! Don't give up!", citizens' cries could be heard during the verbal confrontation with the police.
