VanHorn in Tirana: Albania open to investments, but in defense of national

US Chargé d'Affaires to Albania Nancy VanHorn was present at the American Chamber of Commerce's presentation on Foreign Direct Investment.

The US Embassy in Tirana has distributed part of its statement, emphasizing that our country is open for business, but at the same time protecting national interests and meeting standards.

“Albania’s FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) Screening Framework is not just a bureaucratic exercise – it is a strategic statement. It shows that Albania is open for business, but in a way that protects Albania’s national interests and meets international standards,” said Charge d’Affaires Nancy VanHorn at the American Chamber of Commerce’s presentation on Foreign Direct Investment.

Nancy VanHorn, stated that foreign investors need clear and equal rules.

"Investors are paying attention, including American ones. American companies are here in energy, construction and technology, and many more are looking to come. But investors need confidence that the rules are clear, that the playing field is level and that strategic sectors are protected from actors who do not play by the same rules as us," VanHorn declared.
