Kosovo/ The Vetevendosje Movement reaches 52 mandates thanks to the diaspora

The Vetëvendosje Movement has reached 52 seats in the Assembly from the counting of less than 50,000 votes from postal voting and 22,000 votes through diplomatic missions.

And by the end, there are still about 35 thousand envelopes that arrived by mail and about 11 thousand with conditional votes and votes from people with special needs.

In the overall results, Vetëvendosje has received 45.89 percent as the first party. The Democratic Party of Kosovo has dropped to 19.96 percent. The Democratic League is third with 17.04 percent and the Alliance fourth with 6.89 percent. In terms of seats so far, VV has received 52 seats, PDK 22, LDK 19 and AAK 7.

In the preliminary results, VV as the first party received 42.96% or 48 seats, while in the diplomatic representation more than 83 percent. In the postal votes, it received 70.26.

According to developments, if there are 40,000 more votes to be counted, the changes are hardly projected. For VV to win another seat, it needs to maintain a quota of more than 70 percent in the postal count and the conditional votes and those of people with special needs.

Seats in the Assembly are allocated using the D'Hondt formula. After the elections held on 7 June, the Assembly must be constituted and the President and the Government must be elected. A majority in the Assembly and the formation of the Government requires 61 votes, and a quorum of 80 MPs is required for the President in the first two rounds.
