SPAK sheds light on the cocaine route, here are the main episodes of the drug

The Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) has finalized a large-scale operation against a suspected criminal group led by Salvador Aliu, who is accused of involvement in large-scale international drug trafficking.

According to investigations, the network is suspected of operating during 2019–2021 in several countries, including Latin America, Brazil, Belgium and the Netherlands, using sea routes to transport cocaine to the European market.

SPAK reports that as part of the investigation, 23 inspections were conducted in homes, offices and business premises, while several major episodes of drug trafficking were documented at various international ports.

SPAK has documented several key episodes of cocaine trafficking by a suspected criminal group led by Salvador Aliu.

Episode 1 – May 11, 2020 (Belgium, Antwerp): 700 kg of cocaine were seized at the port of Waasland, hidden in a container of car parts coming from China.

Episode 2 – June 6, 2020 (Ecuador, Guayaquil): 2,010 kg of cocaine were seized , destined for the Netherlands, where the narcotic substance had various logos stamped on it such as "Jaguar", "Eagle" and "BB".

Episode 3 – August 16, 2020 (Netherlands, Rotterdam): 1,100 kg of cocaine were seized , transported from Guayaquil by sea vessel.

Episode 4 – December 16, 2020 (Netherlands, Rotterdam): one of the largest shipments was intercepted, with 4.1 tons of cocaine , again coming from Guayaquil.

Episode 5 – February 3, 2021 (Colombia – France): 1,050 kg of cocaine were seized , with final destination France.

In total, these episodes involve around 8.9 tons of cocaine seized , while investigations continue to uncover other shipments and the full network involved in the trafficking.
