SPAK has completed investigations and sent to trial 10 defendants and accused of international drug trafficking and migrant smuggling.

These are the citizens, Musa Gjikola, Sokol Masha, Jani (alias Ilir) Meçja, Akil Alushi, Selami Lushkaj, Klodjan Muça, Denis Harusha, Lorenzo Çadri, Ledri Lulashi, Arian Gjata.

According to SPAK, Musa Gjikola and Jani (alias Ilir) Meçja, for committing the criminal offenses: "Trafficking in narcotics", committed in collaboration in the special form of collaboration, that of a structured criminal group and more than once, "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization or a structured criminal group", "Structured criminal group", committed in the form of leadership. Sokol Masha and Akil Alushi, for committing the criminal offenses: "Assistance for illegal border crossing", committed in collaboration in the form of a structured criminal group, "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization or a structured criminal group", "Structured criminal group", committed in the form of leadership.

Selami Lushkaj, Klodjan Muça, Denis Harusha and Lorenzo (alias Arbër) Çadri (alias Hysko, alias Isufi, alias Çela), for committing the following criminal offenses: "Trafficking in narcotics", committed in collaboration in the special form, that of a structured criminal group, "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization or a structured criminal group", "Structured criminal group", committed in the form of leadership.

Sokol Masha, for committing the criminal offenses: "Trafficking in narcotics", committed in collaboration in the special form of collaboration of a structured criminal group, (one episode consumed according to Article 283/a and the other remained an attempt according to Article 283/a-22 of the Criminal Code), and more than once, "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization or a structured criminal group", "Structured criminal group", committed in the form of participation.

Akil Alushi, Ledri Lulashi and Arian Gjata, for committing the following criminal offenses: "Trafficking in narcotics", committed in collaboration in the special form, that of a structured criminal group, "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization or structured criminal group", "Structured criminal group", committed in the form of participation.

INVESTIGATIONS

The investigations into this criminal proceeding were carried out in close cooperation with the Brazilian, Ecuadorian, French, Dutch, Italian and Serbian justice authorities, the National Bureau of Investigation and the investigation structures of the State Police for the execution of personal security measures.

From the investigations conducted in the interests of this criminal proceeding, it has resulted and been proven that the 10 defendants: Musa Gjikola, Sokol Masha, Jani (alias Ilir) Meçja, Akil Alushi, Selami Lushkaj, Klodjan Muça, Denis Harusha, Lorenzo Çadri, Ledri Lulashi, Arian Gjata, in collaboration with several persons convicted by foreign authorities and with several persons yet unidentified, have trafficked significant quantities of narcotics from Latin American countries, from Albania to European Union countries, and have assisted the illegal crossing of the border from Albania to Italy of 55 Syrian citizens.

From the administered acts, it has resulted that the defendants and their associates have coordinated with each other in carrying out various criminal activities, including through communications on the encrypted platform, "SkyEcc", which have been administered by the French justice authorities, within the framework of mutual legal assistance in the criminal field.

At the end of the investigations, it was concluded that the defendants: Musa Gjikola, Jani (alias Ilir) Meçja, Selami Lushka, Klodjan Muça, Denis Harusha and Lorenzo (alias Arbër) Çadri (alias Hysko, alias Isufi, alias Çela), had the role of leader and financier in the illegal criminal activity in the field of narcotics trafficking, while the defendants, Sokol Masha, Akil Alushi, Ledri Lulashi and Arian Gjata, had the role of participants in this illegal activity.

It has also been proven that the defendants, Sokol Masha and Akil Alushi, have directed the provision of assistance for the illegal crossing of the border by Syrian citizens.

As a result of the controls carried out in 8 episodes belonging to the years 2020 and 2021 (according to the charges attributed to the defendants respectively), it is proven that they have trafficked from Latin American countries (Brazil, Ecuador) towards the main ports of several European Union countries (Italy, the Netherlands), or from Albania towards Greece and Germany, an amount of 4,340.2 kg of narcotics:

3635 kg of cocaine-type narcotics
2 kg of heroin-type narcotics
701 kg of cannabis sativa-type narcotics
