The Supreme Court has overturned the decision issued a year ago by the Special Appeal, which had ordered the preventive seizure of several assets on behalf of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.

The decision was announced during the day by Judge Gent Shala, who ordered the annulment of the previous measure and the return of the case for reconsideration in the Special Appeal, by another judicial body.

The previous decision, taken at the request of SPAK, had imposed preventive seizure on an apartment with an area of ​​167 m², as well as several monetary amounts in euros deposited in banks in the name of Ahmetaj, which were under investigation.

With this new decision, the case is returned to trial and is expected to be reviewed again by another judicial panel of the Special Appeals Court.
