Berisha in Parliament: Albanians have risen up against the authoritarian

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, stated from the Parliament's rostrum that the protests of recent days represent a civic reaction in defense of the constitutional order and fundamental rights.

He accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of violating laws and building a "narco-state", while emphasizing that Albanian citizens have mobilized against what he described as an authoritarian dictatorship.

Berisha stated that participation in protests is an expression of civic responsibility and not of extremist or anti-democratic movements.

Berisha : Honorable deputies, dear citizens who are following this session, which constitutes a cynical act, a real act of war against those hundreds of thousands of citizens who have occupied the streets and squares of Tirana in defense of the constitutional order, in defense of Albanian and international laws flagrantly violated by Edi Rama and his clans in power and in the basements of drug cartels.
These are 18 unprecedented days in the history of Albania.
Never before have Albanians poured into the streets and squares of their capital in the name of that responsibility, which is the highest responsibility after responsibility before God, civic responsibility.
Albanian citizens and youth have filled the squares and streets of Albania, absolutely never as a fascist or anti-Semitic or anti-Trumpist movement, no and no. They have filled the streets and squares against an authoritarian dictatorship that tramples, that drags, that tramples on human rights and that drags peaceful citizens.
Against an authoritarian dictatorship that has built in Albania the only narco-state in Europe.
Do you understand where you are now?
I see where you are in the pyramid of the narco-state.
That they are the traffickers.
They are the businessmen.
But at the top are you.
