The mayor of Roskovec appears before SPAK

The Mayor of Roskovec, Majlinda Bufi, appeared this Thursday at the premises of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime.

The reasons for her appearance have not yet been made public and there has been no official reaction from SPAK or Bufi himself regarding this visit.

We recall that in February of this year, SPAK requested the mayor's conviction and her sentence to 1 year and 6 months in prison for the criminal offense of "using public office for political or electoral activity."

According to the prosecution, Bufi, in the exercise of her duties as mayor, had pressured a citizen not to participate in the local elections of May 14, 2023 and not to engage in political activities of other entities.

Due to the summary trial procedure, the sentence is reduced to 1 year in prison. SPAK has also requested the suspension of the sentence and her placement on probation for a period of two years.
