Tensions in the trial against Meta, Kryemadhi and lawyer Cakrani fined

The court hearing in the case of former President Ilir Meta and former MP Monika Kryemadhi was held amid debates and occasional interruptions, as the Special Prosecution Office continued to present evidence regarding the LSI lobbying file in the United States.

Due to the tensions in the courtroom, the panel decided to fine attorney Kujtim Cakrani and Monika Kryemadhi 10,000 lek, arguing that their behavior violated the solemnity and progress of the judicial process.

After the hearing ended, lawyer Cakrani declared that he would request the judge's exclusion from the case.

During the review of the case file on the merits, SPAK prosecutor Sotir Kllapi presented elements related to the former LSI's lobbying contract with the American company GSIS. At this point, there was an intervention from the defense, where Cakrani and Kryemadhi objected to the reading of the documents, accusing the prosecutor of misinterpreting them.

Following the reactions in the courtroom, the court warned the parties to respect procedural rules, emphasizing that any repeated violations will be accompanied by other disciplinary measures.
