A dead body was found in Ibë, suspected to belong to Eglant Koçi

New developments have come to light regarding the disappearance of 34-year-old Eglant Koçi. During drone searches in the Iba area, on the outskirts of Tirana, police have identified what is suspected to be a lifeless body in difficult mountainous terrain.

Due to the terrain conditions, RENEA personnel specialized in mountaineering operations have been dispatched to the site, in order to verify the object found and identify it. Investigators are working to determine if it is the body of Eglant Koçi, who has been missing for days.

The investigation continues to focus on Armando Shakaj, considered the suspected perpetrator of the incident. According to data collected so far, the movements of his vehicle have been traced to the Iba area, which has also guided police searches in this area.

Investigations have also revealed that after the suspected criminal event, actions were taken aimed at destroying evidence.

Shakaj is suspected of disabling security cameras in the corridors of the building he was staying in, and then asking his bar's waiter, Enea Zyferi, to cut off the electricity supply. According to investigators, this action was intended to prevent the cameras from recording the moment when the body was allegedly transported to the vehicle.
