Journalist Enton Qyno has focused his recent statements on the so-called "Aruba issue", claiming that scenarios for how drug money would be introduced into the Albanian economy were determined at that meeting.

Invited to the show "Çim Peka Live", Qyno said that "Aruba" represents a strategic meeting where, according to him, the method of channeling illegal capital into various sectors of the economy, mainly construction and energy, was discussed.

He claimed that representatives connected to state decision-making were also involved in this process, who, according to him, have provided guarantees for the approval of development permits and major investment projects.

"Aruba is the meeting where the future strategy of how drug money should be melted down was decided. So, a government representative was also brought in to get a guarantee if the permits would be granted and approved, because you may have money but if the government does not approve the development permits, the construction sites, then it is pointless to bring them here and invest because you will always encounter obstacles.

After the "ok" was received precisely from the government representative and then it was guaranteed that this money would also come to Albania, of course people who owned large properties in Albania were also needed. And who were these people? It was Artur Shehu who owns a large part of the properties on the southern coast... It was Elton Mehmeti who had a piece of land behind the Air Albania stadium, which was later expropriated but the intention was to build a tower complex there as well. And there were several other people, Xhika's nephews and friends, because they also have a number of properties in the capital. And under these conditions, in order to create the possibility of construction sites, construction permits and to also create the possibility of revitalizing these sites through drug money, several meetings were held in Aruba, Belgium, Italy, with the sole purpose: securing construction permits so that this money could then come to Albania and be merged into the construction sector", said Qyno.
