Elvis Koçi, otherwise known as Elvis Çaushllari or nicknamed "Vis Korçari", was detained on Saturday evening after a coordinated operation between the operational forces of Tirana and the Saranda Police.

Sources indicate that the 34-year-old from Elbasan was placed under surveillance by Tirana officers, who managed to locate him during the day in the Ksamil area.

At around 22:30, an intervention was organized to capture him, in which civilian agents from the crime sector in Saranda also participated. According to preliminary information, when he noticed the presence of the police, Koçi attempted to evade arrest by performing dangerous maneuvers with his vehicle.

While attempting to flee, he allegedly crashed into two civilian police vehicles, initially managing to break through the cordon and flee the scene.

Immediately after this, the police launched a pursuit operation, while forces from Saranda were also engaged in the FNSH to capture him. After about 30 minutes of searching, the 34-year-old was located near a private business on the Ksamil-Butrint road, where he was placed in handcuffs.

During the operation, the vehicle he was using was also seized, which turned out to be registered in his brother's name.

So far, the authorities have not issued an official statement on the reasons for Elvis Koç's detention. However, according to unofficial sources, he is suspected of being wanted due to a previous decision by the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC).
