Malësi e Madhe/ 306 narcotic plants destroyed, two people arrested

The Malësia e Madhe Police have finalized the operation codenamed "Flagranca", cracking down on a case of cultivation of narcotic plants in the village of Ivanaj.

According to the official announcement, the operation was carried out after intensive investigations and the use of proactive investigation methods. During the checks in the territory of the village of Ivanaj, the Police services discovered a plot where 306 suspected narcotic plants of the Cannabis Sativa variety were cultivated.

At the time of the intervention, the officers caught two people red-handed who were suspected of taking care of the plot. Citizens NZ, 40 years old, resident of the village of Guci e Re, and KP, 43 years old, resident of the village of Grudë e Re, were arrested.

The narcotic plants were destroyed at the scene by burning, while the two arrested will face charges for cultivating narcotic plants.

The police announce that controls continue throughout the Shkodra district, with the aim of preventing and cracking down on cases of drug cultivation.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra for further action.
