Investigations against Arben Ahmetaj postponed for the third time

The Special Prosecution Office has again postponed for 3 months the investigations into former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, who is accused of having committed the criminal offenses of "money laundering", "hiding assets" and "passive corruption".

The Special Prosecution Office now has until June 23 to complete the missing investigations in the Ahmetaj case. This is the third time the prosecution has extended the investigations.

Arben Ahmetaj has been on the run since July 2023. The latter was declared wanted by the Special Prosecution Office regarding his involvement in the incinerator case.

Ahmetaj is suspected of having taken several acts during his tenure as minister to enable entrepreneurs to enter into concession contracts.
