A royal aide has allegedly expressed confidence that Prince Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle "will end in tears".

According to a report, Ms Susan Hussey, who has been Queen Elizabeth II's aide-de-camp since the 1960s, allegedly made the comments during a lunch with theater executives a few months before the couple's wedding in May 2018.

The comments from the senior aide were revealed in investigative journalist Tom Bower's Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, published earlier this month.

"While discussing the possibility of Meghan hooking up at the National Theater after the wedding, Hussey became suddenly serious about the couple's future," writes Bower. "All this will end in tears," she is reported to have said. "Remember my words."
