One of the most visited and emblematic places in the United States is in California, the Walk of Fame is not only known and seen by tourists who walk its streets in search of the name of their favorite artist, but it is also a symbol of success for celebrities, who seek to obtain one of these stars.

Hollywood has already recognized stars like Marilyn Monroe, Steven Spielberg and Kobe Bryant, among others, but what many don't know is that the Walk of Fame receives more than 200 applications each year where celebrities from around the world apply to their name appears on the legendary American road. However, of these 100 or so applications, Hollywood only accepts an average of 30.

After making a list of celebrities who meet all the requirements for a star on the Walk of Fame, a committee of five experts finally chooses the celebrities who will stamp their names on Hollywood land. In addition, nominees must write a letter accepting the tribute and award.

But it doesn't end there, because when an artist of Michael Jackson's stature receives this award, they have to pay for the upkeep of the star until their death, a figure that only the luckiest can afford. As the Walk of Fame website reveals, celebrities who receive a star must pay $50,000, which goes toward the creation of the part that will go into the star and its future maintenance.
