Berisha i pandehur nga SPAK, Doris Pack në Politiko: Lojë e keqe dhe false, sistemi drejtësisë nuk është ende i pavarur
Two days ago, SPAK communicated the charge of 'passive corruption' to the chief democrat Sali Berisha, officially accusing him of the privatization procedures of the former Partizani complex.
In the presence of hundreds of his supporters gathered on the street in front of the building of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Berisha accused the prosecutor's office of raising political issues based on fraud.
Regarding this act, there were many reactions. Among them is former MEP Doris Pack, who in a statement for Politiko.al described the measure as a bad game, as it comes only a few months before the general parliamentary elections.
" These 8 months of "house arrest" of Sali Berisha are a totally illegal measure. I always wondered why this was not criticized by EU officials and diplomats in Albania and those in the EU Commission.
Secondly, the establishment of such accusations against Sali Berisha more than 10 years after his departure from the government and right before the parliamentary elections that are expected in a few months, it shows a lot. It is a bad and false game", declares Mrs. Pack.
The former member of the European Parliament expresses regret that the justice system in Albania is not yet independent, while referring to the case of the mayor Erion Veliaj, who has not yet been brought to court, despite numerous scandals.
"I hope that at least some of the judges will handle the "case" properly. I am very sorry that the justice system in Albania is not yet independent.
For example: why is the mayor of Tirana not yet in front of the court? The government must address the needs of citizens in health, education, work, etc. and to give up the unworthy misuse of power in all areas" , said Pack in her reaction to Politiko.al.
Both Berisha and Malltezi have opposed the accusations and described the investigation as orchestrated by Prime Minister Edi Rama. Also, Berisha and his supporters have described this measure as an attempt to annihilate the opposition./ S/Gj
