PD condemns Qato's return to office and demands disciplinary measures

The Regional Coordinator for Tirana in PD, Klevis Balliu, through a statement to the media, has asked the leaders of the State Police to take serious measures against the directors who violate the law.

"Altin Qato, the head of the Traffic Police, who became the next symbol of the Traffic Police, will return to his duties after a short suspension of a few days.

In violation of the law, the desecration of the uniform and the codes of the Albanian, Altin Qato hit a citizen on the 'high street', becoming one of dozens of senior police officials who abuse citizens or journalists without any legal cause.

The Democratic Party condemns Qato's return to office and demands that serious and full disciplinary measures be taken against him and any official who, in breach of duty, threatens, intimidates or hits citizens."

Speaking about the return to duty of the director of the Traffic Police, Altin Qato, just two days after he was suspended by order of the head of the State Police, after slapping a citizen, Balliu said that hitting the citizen is in itself a corrupt affair to cover up another government corruption affair.

"His return to duty, after a "healthy self-criticism" of the narco-Police Roundtable, proves how incriminated the government is, which brings the traffic policemen to the streets of Albania to hit the citizens, who not only pay taxes for the roads, but also the salaries of the policemen.

The brutalization of Altin Qato and the beating of the citizen is in itself a corrupt affair to cover up another corrupt affair of the government.

For a long time, the State Police has become the shield of the power and corrupt affairs of Rama, Balluk and Veliaj.

This means frontal violence against protesters and 'extra full inclusive' service to criminal organizations.

Rrumbullaku can keep Qato for his services to Rilindah, but he cannot keep the honor of the uniform nor avoid responsibility and accountability.

The Democratic Party knows that in the State Police there are honest and dignified officers who fight head-on with crime, such as Qato and his friends, zealous soldiers against citizens, up to physical violence, and "wet chickens" in front of criminals.

We once again condemn with the greatest political and civic severity the violence against the citizen, the police chief Altin Qato, and we assure both the victim and the aggressor that, if the first has us by his side, the second has us in front of him until the most exemplary punishment through the law."
