Rape and murder of Eleni Topaloudi, Albanian must give 905 thousand euros in

Aleksandër Luca must pay compensation of 905 thousand euros to the family of Eleni Topaloudi, the 21-year-old who was raped and murdered by the young Albanian man.

The decision was made by the Court of Rhodes for the psychological damage, anxiety and pain that the event has caused to the victim's relatives.

The crime took place in Pefkos Lindos in November 2018, where the two perpetrators, Alexander Luca and a 28-year-old Greek Manolis Koukouras, first raped and tortured Eleni for three hours, then attempted to clean up the crime scene by driving to an isolated location.

The Greek student was still alive when the two young men threw her off a cliff into the sea, causing her death.

The perpetrators were sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of the 21-year-old.

Eleni's parents, Ioannis Topaloudis and Kyriaki Armoutidou, her brother, grandmother and other relatives, turned to the civil court seeking compensation for the anguish caused by the 21-year-old's murder.

Their indictment highlights the unprecedented brutality of the acts, as well as the deceit and methodical manner in which the perpetrators attempted to conceal their criminal actions.

The court dismissed the lawsuit against the young Greek man, while the lawsuit against the father of the 26-year-old Albanian was accepted.

The Albanian murderer and rapist must pay the following amounts:

-240,000 euros to the father, Ioannis Topaloudis

-240,000 euros to the mother, Kyriaki Armoutidou

-200,000 euros to Eleni Topaloudi's brother

-100,000 euros to Eleni Topaloud's grandmother

-100,000 euros to the heirs of Eleni Topaloudi's grandfather

-25,000 euros for each of Eleni Topaloudi's uncles
