Where do we have anthropologists? Tare: They put skeletons in black bags, to be

Historian Auron declares that Albania has no anthropologists since the only one who was, was dismissed from the institute.

Invited to "Now with Erla Mëhillin", he added that in the Institute of Albanology, where anthropology is included, there is still no protocol for how human remains are handled.

According to him, the discovered skeletons are put in bags and thrown into the basement without any care.

"Who is an anthropologist in Albania? That I've been looking for 20 years and I can't find it. I have a personal experience of this. In 2002 I gave a lecture on Butrint at the University of Syracuse. Some American professors came to me and told me, in the lecture we saw that you also took out skeletons, what do you do with these skeletons. As a young man, I did not know. I came to Albania and asked them what they did with the skeletons.

They took them, put them in black bags and threw them in the warehouse. The Americans brought me a regulation on how they dealt with human remains, that these are people, but we still don't have such a protocol today. These are people, but they take them, put them in a black bag and throw them in the basement for the rats to eat. And Albania does not have an anthropologist, there was only one and he was removed from the institute" , said Auron Tare.

We remind you that the Albanian government has decided to dissolve the Academy of Albanian Studies.
