Pakistani arrested in Tepelena for transporting illegal immigrants

A 19-year-old man from Pakistan has been arrested after he was transporting 5 immigrants from third countries in a vehicle.

The 19-year-old was spotted on the Tepelena-Memaliaj road after he disobeyed a police stop sign.

"He was transporting 5 immigrants from third countries by vehicle towards Kakavija, who were intending to illegally cross the border with Greece. The 19-year-old, a Pakistani citizen, was captured and put in handcuffs."

During the operation, the Police services, on the "Tepelena-Memaliaj" road axis, stopped a vehicle suspected of transporting migrants. The driver of the vehicle did not obey the stop sign but continued driving at high speed for several minutes and then abandoned the vehicle.

"The vehicle in which the immigrants were transported was seized as material evidence," the police announced.
