On the International Water Day, President Ilir Meta has again called for Vjosa to be declared a National Park, while encouraging all Albanians to show solidarity with this cause.

Stressing that Vjosa is of pan-European importance, the Head of State urged senior European Union authorities to strongly support the call.

"Deeply grateful for the extraordinary contribution of local and foreign environmental activists, scientists and academics, who have given strength to the voice of the community by showing in Tirana, but also in the most important capitals of Europe, in Brussels, Berlin and Paris the call that buçet by the river: Vjosa National Park now!
