New details have been revealed from the testimony of Nors Manlapaz, the mother of Mark Samson, the 22-year-old man accused of the brutal murder of the young Albanian, Ilaria Sula, an event that has shocked public opinion in Italy and Albania.

In her testimony, the perpetrator's mother stated that it was only on the morning of March 26 that she realized that there was someone else in the apartment. She had noticed two cups of coffee, and a little later she had heard voices of argument, but then everything fell silent.

"In the evening I was sleeping. It was only in the morning that I realized that there was someone else in the house. I saw two cups of coffee. I heard debate, then silence. When I opened the door, I saw the girl dead. I lost consciousness," she declared to the investigators.
Italian media report that the investigations have focused on analyzing the blood stains found on the walls of the apartment. Police suspect they were caused during Ilaria's attempt to flee or while trying to hide her body, which was then put in a suitcase and thrown into a ravine.

Another important clue for investigators is the exact determination of the time of death. Mark Samson has stated that he had sex with Ilaria at night and that he had killed her the next morning, after taking her breakfast to her room. However, such details are expected to be verified through the autopsy.

Doubts about his version have also been raised by the fact that the victim was wearing black pants and a white T-shirt, and not nightwear, as would be expected if the murder had happened in the morning.

The father and uncle of the perpetrator have also been taken under investigation. The young man stated that his father was at work near the Vatican at the time of the incident, but this is being verified by the authorities. Also, the uncle, who lives in the same building, claims that he was at work, but he also remains under observation by the investigative bodies.

The investigations continue, while it is expected that the data from the autopsy and forensic analyses will shed more light on this macabre crime that has shocked public opinion.
