Grenell criticizes UNMIK: Lost US tax spending, Trump cares about Balkans

Former envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Richard Grenell, has criticized the UNMIK chief for being ineffective in recent developments between Kosovo and Serbia.

In a Twitter post, Grenell writes that UNMIK is a waste of US taxes, as he states that if Donald Trump had been in charge of the US government, such situations would not have happened.

"UNMIK chief blames poor communication on EU, European Commission President von der Leyen and NATO for recent violence. But he is that is ineffective and slow. UNMIK is a lost expense of US tax dollars and it must be restructured or closed immediately. I am convinced that this latest violence would not have happened if Donald Trump and his team were still in office. The Trump team took care of the Balkans and got involved in the details. Leadership matters. "Leaders in Belgrade and Pristina must agree to stop recognition campaigns immediately - even though Joe Biden refuses to get involved," Grenell wrote.
