Kilicdaroglu reacts after the defeat: The desire of the Turkish people to

The head of the Turkish opposition, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, has spoken to the media after losing the presidential elections against the current president Erdogan, where he says that a desire of the Turkish people to support authoritarian regimes can be observed.

"I was not able to protect your rights. I did not commit shirk to an unjust structure, I could not be a silent devil and I was not. I could not remain calm in the face of millions of people who become second-class citizens in this country."

“I couldn't let them stand over your rights. For your children to go to bed hungry. So that farmers could not produce. I could not allow these things. He went on to say that he will "continue to fight" to protect Turkey's rights, and especially thanked "women and young people" for their support.

"They are the real heroes. The people's desire to support an authoritarian regime has come to the fore. This will continue to be part of our history," he said.

Kilicdaroglu ends by thanking the 25 million people who voted for him and adds that "the battle continues."
