Tabaku comments on the PS initiative: Forgiveness of fines legalizes informality
Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, has commented on the Ps initiative to forgive fines.
Speaking to A2 CNN, Tabaku said that the initiative legalizes informationalism and violation of the law.
She adds that if there were an amnesty for fines, then citizens would commit the next violation, expecting another amnesty as the elections approach.
"In 2022, there was a Constitutional Court decision that called that law unconstitutional. So that law should not have existed for the last two years, it should not have been implemented. They remembered after 2 years to implement a Constitutional Court decision on a law that they implemented for several inspectorates and then now they forgive it?
I see the problematic part of the pardon of fines in terms of food safety. I am actually for a different way of functioning of the state, for a system that does not function on fines. These people said we will make a state, and they imposed fines. The point here is that when you start with the concept of pardons, you legalize informality.
"This was the reason I was against the fiscal amnesty. In principle, I think that these fines should have been forgiven on time, when these fines were imposed. This should also be considered from a legal and state-building perspective and it should be seen who imposes these fines ," said Tabaku.
