"Country heading towards dictatorship", former Foreign Minister: Berisha is the right person to lead DP

Former Foreign Minister Aldo Bumçi has spoken about the possibility of a revival of the Democratic Party, declaring that the country is headed for a dictatorship after the elections were violated.

In a connection with MCN television, he said that 50,000 lek for pensioners in campaigns was one of the ways to buy votes, while he emphasized that another violation was the use of campaign funds.

According to him, Rama also intervened in court decisions to prevent the registration of the party, showing that the justice systems are close to a collapse.

"The interest of Albanians today is to unite around the opposition because this country has turned into a dictatorship that has violated the elections for the umpteenth time, taking away the right of the citizens to influence. It is a crime against the citizens and in these elections the violations have been public, they have started some time before the elections with a brutal intervention of the government that did not respect the election code. 50 thousand old lek during the campaign for pensioners, is a vote purchase."

As for warnings about protests, Bumci said that they are currently focused on documenting election violations.
