Martin Cani murder case/ After punching at school, 14-year-old was threatened

At a time when a preliminary judge will decide on the investigation into the minor who killed his peer Martin Cani, the prosecution is looking into a separate investigation into which school staff abused their duty by not considering the conflict between students.

As sources close to the investigation group indicate, the testimony of the security officer with the initials J. K., who had been performing this duty at the "Fan Noli" school for a year and a half, was taken.

The witness says that immediately after she was informed about the conflict between the students, she notified the principal of the "Fan Noli" school, the teacher in charge, and the psychologist.

The officer had learned about the fight between Mario Përlleshaj, the arrested perpetrator, and the victim Martin Cani from a teacher who heard the high-pitched voices between them and the insults about the mother.

"I went to the toilet and noticed that the students were not there. Then I called Martin Cani who told me that when he entered these premises he had cursed in vain and that citizen Mario Përlleshaj had taken it personally with him. I called Mario and he told me that there was no problem with him, the two were calm with each other", the officer said to the investigation group. But after the 6th hour of class she became aware of the crime that had occurred.

In addition to the testimonies of the students who were involved in the fight, the prosecution has also provided a video clip, where Mario Përlleshaj is shown walking away with an object in his hand that appears to be a knife.

The 14-year-old accused of murder in aggravating circumstances of a child states that he knew Martin as a 9th grade student.

"I've never had a conflict before. That day I left school with my friend. At that moment, Martini called me, who was with two or more friends I didn't know. I separated from my friend and approached Martini, who told me to go with him to explain, without telling me what. We walked forward and his friends followed us. After we stopped, they hit me," says Mario, who insists that he doesn't remember using a knife.

But little Martin's friend, Luis, who was also injured, is described by other juvenile witnesses as being the first person to punch Marion in the chest.

Luis says that during moments of clarification among the children as they were walking, he heard the question "Hey guys, do you know any place where you can buy bouquets of flowers?"

Murder accused Mario Përlleshaj, who has requested a change of sentence several times, has also submitted his transcript showing good grades, a request that was not accepted by the court.

Mario Përlleshaj continues to be held in juvenile detention because, as the court says, the act for which he is suspected is "murder in qualifying circumstances against a minor", a crime for which the law provides for a sentence of no less than twenty years or life imprisonment./Top Channel
