The national television in Greece, "ERT", has paid attention to drug trafficking by boats from Albania to Turkey and from Morocco to Spain.

The head of the Anti-Drug Directorate of Athens, Spyros Tsardakas, has spoken about maritime traffic routes. He says that the transport is done by speedboats and they are preferred by criminal groups in Greece, Italy but also in Spain.

"We are talking about boaters who can only be found in boat races. These speedboats are very fast, we are talking about 60-70 miles at least of their speed, whose value exceeds 400,000 euros. They start from Albania, arrive at the edge of the Peloponnese, where they fill up with fuel."

"Then they reach the shores of Turkey, deliver the cannabis, which has a higher value there, exchange it mainly for heroin and return. We have identified Albanians, whom we targeted for their criminal activity and who subsequently act in the area of Spain," he said.

According to the report, the most suitable time for the activity of drug rafts is when the sea is 6-7 knots in order for them not to be caught by the authorities.
